About Us: Our Training, Guarantees & How We Work
Who We Are and What We Specialize In
We started Vinyl Tek Customs because Leeds needed a shop that treats film and wrap work like a trade, not a side hustle. Over 15 years we’ve worked on daily drivers, company vans and property windows, and it’s the small details that stick, a headlight tint edge still clean after two winters, or a wrap seam you have to run your thumb over to find.
Our work splits into three areas:
- Window film: privacy film, sun control tinting, vehicle window tinting, tail light and headlight tinting
- Paint & surface protection: paint correction, ceramic coating, paint protection film
- Graphics & detailing: car wrapping, van wrapping, dechrome, car detailing
We quote every job free before anything’s booked in, because nothing replaces seeing the finished work in person.

Our story
Vinyl Tek Customs started in 2022 on Tong Road in Leeds. Navid has been obsessed with cars for a long time, the kind of person who spots a lifted tint edge or an uneven wrap seam from across a car park and can’t let it go. He opened Vinyl Tek Customs to do the work the way he’d want it done on his own car, no rushed corners, no “good enough,” just a finish that still looks right in the future.
What began as window tinting grew as customers asked for wraps, PPF, ceramic coating and dechrome. Fifteen years on, most of our work still comes from repeat customers and word of mouth around Leeds, Pudsey and Armley, which tells us more about how the jobs held up than any advert could.
Meet the team
Vinyl Tek Customs is owned and run day to day by Navid Sohbati, the shop’s primary operator and lead installer, so the person quoting your car is the same one fitting it.

Our 3M Training
We trained through 3M, one of the biggest names in window film and paint protection film. It’s where we learned the application methods we still use on every car, van and window that comes through the door.
Film work looks simple until you’ve tried it, get the squeegee pressure wrong or rush a corner and you’ll see lifting edges within months. The training covers the parts most people never think about: how much heat a curved rear screen needs, how to handle a compound bumper edge on PPF, how to keep dust out of a wrap mid-application. It’s the baseline we work from, not a shortcut, and it’s why we don’t rush prep, film selection or curing time to get a car out faster.

Our Warranties, and Why They Differ
We back every job with written warranty terms, and they vary by service because the materials live very different lives:
- Window tinting (vehicle & property): lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling and colour fade
- Print & vinyl wrapping (incl. van wrapping): one year from the fitting date
- Paint protection film: 5 years against yellowing and film failure
Tint sits behind glass, shielded from grit and jet washes, so a properly fitted sheet can be backed for the life of the vehicle. Wraps live on the outside, taking sun, rain and brush washes, and they fade at different rates depending on where a vehicle’s parked, so one year is the term we’ll actually stand behind. PPF sits in between: a thicker, tougher polyurethane built to take stone chips head-on, which is why five years holds up where a wrap term wouldn’t.
That’s also why we won’t back a full-colour wrap for five years, it’s not what the material’s built for. If something covered does turn up, get in touch and we’ll check it against the fitting date and the terms above.
